Review on πŸ”‹ RSHTECH Aluminum M.2 NVMe NGFF SSD Enclosure Adapter - USB 3.1 Gen 2 10Gbps - UASP Trim - Tool-Free" by Doug Daniels

The RSHTECH M.2 NVMe & SATA SSD Enclosure is close to perfection.

The RSHTECH M.2 NVMe & SATA SSD Enclosure is a tool-less enclosure. It's made of solid aluminum and comes with USB Type-C to Type-C and USB Type-C to Type-A cables. It is compatible with Windows, macOS and Android systems. RSHTECH M.2 NVMe and SATA SSD Enclosure is priced well because it can do the work of two separate enclosures. It supports NVMe PCIe and SATA M.2 SSDs. There is a button with a blue LED display to open the case. Inside there are plastic tabs for mounting M.2 SSDs of different sizes (2242, 2260 and 2280). No tools and no need to loosen or screw in those tiny and annoying SSD screws that will eventually disappear. At least that's what happens to me. It works on multiple platforms, so it can be helpful in cloning M.2 drives, backing up data, or even copying pictures and files from a smartphone. I was able to reach 587.3 MB/s with the RSHTECH M.2 SSD enclosure. (4698 Mbps) on an NVMe connected to a USB 3.2 Gen2 port. On SATA, 401.2 MB/s (3,208 MB/s) was achieved when copying data. I have used several systems with USB 3.0, 3.1 and 3.2 Gen2 on Type A and Type C ports. Depending on the USB interface, the transmission speeds can vary considerably. I encountered a problem. Some M.2 SATA SSD models did not appear in the Devices and drives list when used on Windows computers. It appeared in Disk Management and prompts you to initialize and format hard drive. It didn't matter if the drive was already formatted and had data on it. * I tried two M.2 SATA on four different Windows computers with exactly the same result. Make sure you don't "initialize" or "format" the drive if you need data on it. I have tested the same M.2 SATA SSDs with similar cases and have not encountered this issue. This issue does not occur when using an M.2 NVMe PCIe SSD or connecting to a Mac or Android. System. The tab with the 2280 M.2 SSD is just below the edge of the SSD and is blocked when the SSD is installed. This makes installing the hard drive more difficult than it should be. Cases like this had to be fitted with heat pads to allow the SSD to come in contact with the metal case, which helped dissipate heat better. Drives used: Intel 660P M.2 NVMeADATA SX8200 Pro M.2 NVMeIntel SSD Pro 2500 M.2 SATA (no problem) Micron 1100 M.2 SATA (problem*) Samsung 860 EVO M.2 SATA (problem*) Devices used: MacBook Pro (2017)Dell Inspiron 7000Oneplus 7TSamsung Galaxy S10 (This requires the device to format the drive.) AMD Ryzen system with ASRock B550 motherboard.
