I had a lot of trouble holding the setting tool while screwing the insert into the cast boss. The outside diameter of the inserts doesn't leave much room for the fiberglass protrusion to break in the bat protrusions. It might work better if you drill some meat out of the bosses in the fairing after removing the factory inserts. I had to use 3 of these in the fairing of my 04 Ultra Classic and 2 out of 3 cracked in the cleat material, I had to JB WELD the cracks to ensure the 3 inserts would last forever. I could probably use JB welding from the start to keep the originals from spinning. Spring. live and learn
