Too much care

We love our Instant Pot and have been using it for several years. So we went with the Instant Pot Blender. It was a good well built blender but too difficult to maintain. We ended up returning it because: 1. You can't submerge the jug in water to wash it because it has a heating element. So painful to wash.2. Blending with the preset smoothie button takes longer than a minute to make a smoothie as it starts and stops multiple times. Even after that, we would have to mix it by hand to get the desired consistency. The gears on the underside are made of rubber and are therefore not designed to last forever. Overall, this is a good $70 blender, but we only use the blender for one purpose, to make smoothies 1-2 times a month. It makes a good smoothie (I'd give it 3 stars) but it's too cumbersome to use and clean. We're not going to use a blender to make soup, so we don't appreciate this feature. We didn't want to spend $300 on the Vitamix since we only use the blender to make smoothies once or twice a month. We ended up buying a 2.0 HP BlendWorks blender. for $70 and it makes smoothies that much better.
