Once the clamp is secured to the table, the articulating arm can be raised but not lowered. I knew this when ordering, but took a chance because the workmanship looked solid (and it is). Unfortunately, the arm/wrist support is too high for me. I even tried turning the clamp screw as far as possible and inserting a book between the clamp screw and the underside of my desk to secure it, which resulted in the entire device (and swing arm) being about an inch or so down fell below. , but the armrest is still too high for me, even in the lowest position, and there is no way to adjust the height of my desk or chair. In addition, the rather small hand/palm rest is made of hard plastic without padding. In short, it's a well-made product, easy to install and might suit you. However, if you have long arms (especially from shoulder to elbow) or large arms, you should think twice before buying.
