Review on Shure AONIC 50 Wireless Over-Ear Noise Cancelling Headphones (White) by Siu Jang ᠌

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Beyond praise! The product definitely deserves your attention.

Bought to replace plugs. I wanted something bigger and bigger. At first, I didn’t really like the sound (there is something to compare with, there is a Denon AH-D7000, Shure SRH1840, and cheaper KEFs, not counting half a dozen Sony-type rebar plugs (4-drivers) and all sorts of Chinese). At first, there was not enough bass for me (I'm generally a bass-head)), and the equalizer in Shura only worked if I listened to music from their application. But, lo and behold, in the latest firmware they made it so that the equalizer settings are transferred to the headphones, and now they work when playing music from any other applications. I use a flac player on an iPhone, and I also tweak the equalizer in it. Well, I'm such a pervert. Despite the fact that the sound never becomes monitor, but much more driving and "tastier". For the street, that's it. If you want monitor - there are homemade Denon for a piece of bucks)). More expensive, I don’t see the point already, since the increase in sound will already be almost imperceptible for me. Despite the weight, you get used to them and don't really notice them. I even wondered if I took them)) when I got on the subway and they were turned off. Of the positive side effects - the ears do not freeze. Well, headphones and headphones. The materials are not bad and, according to the Shurov tradition, they are quite wear-resistant. I also like the design, but all the markers are different in taste and color, of course. A little big, but this is a continuation of their advantages in passive noise isolation and large-scale sound. Of course, wireless is not perfect in terms of sound quality, but the difference between compressed YouTube music and flasks is very noticeable. Probably, the bluetooth codec is still somewhere closer to 900 kbps than the miserable 256 from YouTube. Although I have more "audiophile" options like the Colorfly C4, the convenience of shura with an iPhone is so much better that I'm ready to forgive them for some sound flaws. And since bass and treble are everything for me, for my taste they are much more driving and musical and “tastier” than the terribly analytical, but nevertheless terribly dry Colorfly sound.

Pros
  • Sound, the ability to adjust the equalizer directly in the headphones. Outside you can not hear what is playing in them. Practical and durable materials are quite in the spirit of Shure. Good bass, without significant porridge.
Cons
  • The noise reduction system is rather nominal, but it is nevertheless possible to listen comfortably in the subway thanks to good passive noise isolation, since they are of a closed type. The sound, of course, is more muffled compared to normal wired ones, but it will do for its price category. Calling them monitor or studio is, of course, overkill. But it's ok for the street.
