Review on 510030 Wheel Bearing by Coast To Coast by David Forleo

Revainrating 3 out of 5

My experience. for greases and lubricants

I've always been picky about bearings as they are usually difficult to replace (remove front tires, brakes, steering knuckles, press out old ones, press in new ones, reassemble). For this reason I tend to stick with OEM or well known brands like Timken, Koyo etc. They were very cheap and after a bit of research I concluded these are decent bearings. (based on comments from people who have had experience with this). So I bought two of these for the front of my Civic. Unfortunately, the driver's side bearing failed in less than six months. I don't want to rate it below three (3) stars as it could be a one off defect. However, this was rather impractical because, as mentioned above, they are not as easy to assemble as, for example, an air filter. I ended up having to buy a Timken branded version that cost almost twice as much. BONUS: The Timkens bearings I received were marked "Koyo" so it turns out I had OEM bearings installed after all.

Pros
  • wheel bearings
Cons
  • Definitely a bad product
