I've always been frustrated with Cisco/Linksys routers. Older models work much better than newer ones and are much more reliable. Looking for a replacement for my IT business, I tried this model. Works almost out of the box. There's a simple switch on the back to set the mode as an access point, router, or repeater instead of having to configure it in the UI. As soon as you connect it to the network, connect a computer or laptop to one of the ports and open a browser, the installation will begin immediately. There are 3 or 4 steps for basic setup and you're done. Accessing and configuring advanced features is also easy. I also think antennas are still needed to get the best signal. The internal antennas are multi-directional and cannot be changed. Many wireless routers are installed on or near ISP modems, allowing you to achieve some signal separation as well. I also like that there are holes at the bottom for wall mounting. I found the signal strength to be excellent and had no issues with dropouts or problems syncing with the ISP modem when there was a power outage or ISP service. . I bought a few and they are used as both a router and an access point and I am going to install one in my home to make up for the poor wireless signal from my UVerse gateway. The price is great so great value for money too. I don't think you will be disappointed with this purchase.
