I will update this review when this gets corrected. I really wanted to like this disc. I was very excited about that. I found a nice 7200 drive for a good price. I was thrilled to finally unbox it, plug it in, and start transferring data. Unfortunately, the drive immediately and incessantly began to crack and rattle. This happens both during data transfer and during data usage (I understand this is a mode of transfer). Do you copy files to disk? loops without end. Copy files from hard drive? loops without end. Play files from disc? loops without end. I contacted Fantom as my drive was still under warranty. I went through the warranty process, which is never fun. I spent $30 to send them the CD. After a while, they agreed to replace the disc. Then, after a two week radio silence, and only after I had to contact them again, did they send me a replacement. The replacement is the exact same disc as the one I sent. It's formatted for Mac (which I did) and they don't have drives by default. The disk partition is named exactly as I named it before shipping, not the factory default name. I also accidentally received a different size drive the first time and you would think that if I replaced my faulty drive they would send me what I actually paid for, but they didn't. Oh yes, and the drive was sent back to me straight away and started making a continuous grinding noise during use. I contacted Fantom support again and they told me they replaced the drive and it's fine. They didn't, and they didn't. don't fool me No sane hard drive manufacturer would claim that these noises and clicks are standard. Anyone with experience in this area would immediately realize that this is utter nonsense. I told them about it and gave my reasons several times. I have provided audio/video material. I'm happy to leave the phone on the drive for as many minutes as needed so you can hear it clicking loudly and awkwardly. By the way, I kept appealing to their professionalism and giving them an advantage. Doubt in many cases which gives them the ability to fix the problem, swap the drive for me and keep me as a customer. I asked them to really explain that this behavior is normal for their drives, and I myself argued that I would tell my tech and antivirus colleagues never to use their drives again if this was their normal behavior is. I trust a drive that keeps clicking. If this is your standard then you deserve a star. I'm still waiting for Fantom to fix the problem and send me a decent replacement, and I look forward to Revain on their side as well.
