Worked once, then died

I had a similar pump from a different brand before which worked quite well but I wanted to replace it with this one because supposedly the throughput was slightly better. It worked exactly once and maybe for 5 minutes. The. The motor started to make inconsistent noises and the pump seized to function. Had to switch to my old pump again and am now past the return window on this new one.

Ran and pumped for less than a minute and stopped. I check the inlet and there was no clog and theelectrical connection was good. The battery had just been charged. Tried it again and it still no luck.Motor is not hot. It is just junk.
