Likes so far: 2005 Volvo S40 T5 - iOS 12 iPhone - Battery check is a plus

I already have this OBDII device that works with various iOS and Android apps and I bought this device to read the code more easily. The turning point for me was the performance of the built-in battery. The instructions do not explain whether the device stays on or whether it can drain an aging car battery. There are no error codes yet, but I used their free iOS app to examine a few codes from my previous OBD2 device and got clear, useful information. . Another reader of mine just gave the codes I had on Google at the time. The iOS app is elegant and I like it better than other popular free and paid OBD2 apps for Apple and Android. Quite a few details are not available for Volvo for example, you can pay hundreds for this opportunity. PROS:• Price and design• Built-in battery health check• No subscription fee• Works via Bluetooth, not WiFi*• Well-designed iOS app*• App can alert you when your engine coolant is too hot (requires custom installation and configuration) CONS: • Bluetooth connection with iPhone/iOS is simple but not intuitive. iPhone settings > Bluetooth > On > Device pairing not working; Instead, you have to download the app and connect through it. Very simple but confusing at first. • An explanation of the various gauges in the app will be helpful to those of us who are not geared.

Pros
  • Easy setup
Cons
  • There are other interesting options.
