This weather radio has poor reception compared to the Midland ER 310. Of course, this radio is cheaper, so if the difference between $60 and $35 matters, and you're sure you're in close proximity to a weather station, you might need it. Please note that this radio does not have an alarm function. Update - I was wrong Apparently there is an alarm function although I didn't hear it.
