I bought this shampoo after reading good reviews from others. I've used it two or three times and can't say I like anything about it. First, there is very little foam. The foam may not matter, but the foam makes me feel like it's doing something. Without the foam, it just feels heavy in my hair. Then when I rinse my hair, I don't feel like I'm washing it out completely and I don't feel sparkling clean. I don't like the smell either (at least not really). OK, I just googled whether foam is important in shampoos and here's what I found. Since this shampoo does not contain sulfates, the sensations from it will be different. HOW TO USE A SULPHATE-FREE SHAMPOO Wet your hair thoroughly before applying a sulfate-free shampoo. This also applies to regular shampoo, but is so important for a sulfate-free shampoo. If your hair is not fully saturated, it will be difficult to apply and distribute the product through the hair. Use less product than you think. Most people expect shampoo to lather, and when a sulfate-free shampoo doesn't lather, they apply more product. Although it doesn't lather, it still cleans your hair. Apply more water, not more product. If you're having trouble getting lather to wash your hair with a sulfate-free shampoo, apply more water, not more product. The water helps to activate the shampoo and distribute it throughout the hair. Rinse out the shampoo twice. Without foaming, it is difficult to remove dirt and grease from the hair. The second shampoo really lifts and cleans the hair. Also, you will find that the second shampoo foams more easily. Rinse your hair thoroughly. Be sure to rinse your hair. Any residue from sulfate-free shampoo will make your hair look heavy. So, CONCLUSION - I may need to give it another try and/or compare it to another sulfate free shampoo, but for now I don't feel like I'm getting a shiny and clean feel with it.
