Poor iPad Air 4 compatibility and meager battery life

Apple's inexplicable decision to use the confusing and vague iPad product naming convention (iPad Air 4th Edition? iPad 8th Edition?) is a frustrating and uninformative move of this accessory manufacturers like Earto sell their products: I have my third keyboard case (so far) and it's impossible to find a suitable one. Suggested keyboard cases for the Air 4ty are called "Pro", "Pro+", "11.0 Pro", "Max+" and so on, and this one claims to support both the Air 4 and the iPad Pro 11 3rd (2021) - But form factors differ by millimeters between the Air and Pro, enough to offer a loose fit where it should be snug. Big issues: + Loose fit on the top of the case and thick plastic getting in the way of the top fingerprint reader. It still works, but the gymnastics of pinching the right piece of your finger to unlock is subpar + the spacebar doesn't work all that often. It seems to be related to form fields, but I typed without spaces on several input conditions + The battery life is terrible: too short a usage time of 1 hour on a single charge is promised, but it turns off after 30-40 minutes , even with overnight charging . + The pairing is weird, and Erto decided to create his own function key conventions: does the command key work on some, Fn on others? + Security issue: They advise disabling the screen lock for the unlock key and "wake up" function to work. . Why? i give it back I've just ordered a new case from the manufacturer, but I'm afraid only Apple will get it right. Paying $300 for a keyboard is wrong, but paying $90 for a bad keyboard is no better.

Pros
  • Ease of use
Cons
  • Out of style
