I bought this for my twins. They are 13 years old, they are athletes. Hair styling is not a priority for her. They hate blow-drying their hair, they're scared of straighteners, and most of the time I'm lucky they even brush their hair. One has thick coarse hair and the other has thick but fine hair, if that makes sense. Both have wavy hair that will frizz. This hair straightener exceeded my expectations. It heats up quickly. You can use it alone without burning yourself. The ends of the brush do not get hot. The few times we've used it, it did a good job of smoothing out those unsightly waves. I recommend sectioning your hair (there are some clips included to help you do this) if you are looking for a completely straight hairstyle. But if you just want to tame unruly hair that eventually becomes straight with just a few passes, then this product is for you. Too bad I didn't find and try it before I bought my expensive fashion iron. I could see us using this product on the go to refresh our hair. My only complaint is that it's a little heavy, but other than that I would definitely recommend trying this product. I also have to say that since I was skeptical about this product and brand (just because I had never bought them before) I immediately registered our brush for a lifetime guarantee. They immediately emailed me back, confirming my registration and checking that we liked the product. It's an A+ in my book.
