I switched to these $100 Scosche headphones. Despite double the cost, I can definitely see an improvement in material quality and sound quality with my M&Ds. Scosche felt plasticky and cheap compared to these copper beauties. As others have said, the brass makes them feel heavy in the hand. But the weight disappears as soon as you put them on your ears. I suspect it's because the quality engineers are figuring out the right weight distribution. In fact, I think the weight even helps ensure a good fit. My scosche often lost its snug fit, but my M&Ds stayed tight. I've also never been a fan of "cans" (earbuds or in-ear headphones) because they give me a fever in my ears or headaches. But putting copper in your ears is nice and cool. No more hot ears for me! And after wearing them for hours, I don't get any soreness at all like with Apple headphones. The quality of the wires is also excellent. My scosche also had flat wires, but they still got tangled and twisted. M&D flat wires stay straight. I will say that the overall length of the wire is shorter than what I'm used to, but that probably helps further to prevent tangling/twisting. And it's still long enough to walk around with my phone in my pocket (mine is 6ft). One of the most important factors for me is the built-in volume and start/stop buttons for the iPhone. The buttons are recessed to prevent accidental presses, but I had no trouble pressing them, and the separation also helps to understand which button is why, "by touch" only. Also, the microphone is separate from the buttons, and I haven't had any complaints about voice quality or background noise when talking to people. Appearance is subjective, but I think it's the perfect balance of style without being ostentatious. The sound quality is also better than my $100 Scosche. I'm not a music lover but these headphones sound great to me. The bass is good, not intrusive. I often listen to podcasts and my speech is clear and distinct. I'm just missing one clip. It's optional and a lot of people don't even use it, but I like it when I'm at my desk because I'm moving and it helps keep the seal tight if the wire catches on something. The attached clip is bullshit in that respect. It's arranged like a miniature tie clip, so if you only wear button-down shirts you might be fine. But it doesn't compress at all and slips off immediately when I try to press it against my shirt (buttonless). I actually had to keep the clip from my soche because it's very strong. Other included accessories are good. For the price, you're expecting more than just headphones and a couple of different sized earbuds, so it's good that they give you that extra bit of versatility. But I never see the need for a cloth or a hard case or anything. I like the bag/tote because it's big enough to fit without squeezing. Finally, I mostly use them during work, so I don't know how they hold up during workouts.
