I bought these lights because my old plain white icicle lights stopped working after a few years. This time I decided to use colored flashing lights. Well, I put them in and hooked them up to a timer. Suddenly, at the click of the "BAM BAM BAM" timer, I was attacked by sharp flashing lights with waves of color that you would see in a disco club! They go from gentle waves to a beating pulse with no clear pattern. I was hoping for an adjustment control where I could keep her quiet, but no. There was no control over those crazy lights. I would not recommend them as Christmas lights. Dance party lights maybe, but the flashing pattern is too messy even for that!
