Review on Explore with Comfort: Timberland Discovery Pass Slip-On Shoe - Available for Toddlers, Little Kids, and Big Kids by Michael Willis

Revainrating 4 out of 5

Very high quality shoes, suitable for everyday wear

Bought these loafers for my 3 year old son to wear to school as part of a school uniform. My eldest son wore the Timberland Carlsbad moccasins which were worth every penny and are passed down from generation to generation due to the excellent toe coverage (meaning the sole almost completely covers the toe on the upright part of the shoe). My kids are the quickest to wear shoes on their toes, so I was really disappointed to find out that Timberland no longer makes them. (Trust me, I've scoured the internet and managed to find the last pair of the next size up before they were gone forever, but if you're really lucky and need a super random size, you might be able to get one here or there Find a pair..) I haven't worn Carlsbad loafers that were small enough for my 3 year old so I decided to try Timberland again and found these Discovery loafers. If they had toe coverage like Carlsbad I would give them 5 stars but in the month+ he wore them they showed a bit of toe wear which Carlsbad never had. They don't look bad or anything, but it's obvious to me because I pay a lot of attention to them. However this shoe still gets 4 stars for excellent well made supportive shoes and my 3 year old wears them all day with no complaints. They feel very comfortable and are made from genuine leather, which is surprisingly hard to find even at this price point. The lack of laces is an added bonus and they're relatively easy to put on and won't slip off during activity. I know it's hard to justify spending that kind of money on a pair of kids' shoes, but if your kids are like that and need to wear shoes every day, trust me, it's worth it. It took me two pairs of cheap dress shoes (fifteen dollars a piece that looked like hell long before it was thrown away) to realize that I needed to spend more money on a solid, attractive pair of shoes that didn't look like trash than I did they were old, it was worth it.
