We were looking for an alternative to our decades-old traditional vertical cheese grater that was so difficult to clean from the inside without making your fingers tingle trying to remove residue while grating. I looked at a few graters at kitchen stores but wasn't ready to buy them - until I saw these! Doesn't matter! This cat meow for both of us is so portable, compact and convenient. Solves my problem when going from yellow to white cheese and vice versa by simply lifting the grater and rotating the container 180. Also temporarily chills leftover cheese for us because you can just pop it on and thin! The three components can be compactly stored with the grater inside without being exposed to accidental finger pricks or dust. The glide feet on the bottom work well on a countertop as long as they don't apply a lot of pressure. Of course there are limits in this price range, so beware: cheese cannot be used - only smaller pieces that fit in the hand. Slight pressure is justified as the grater rests on the plastic container. This is not a micro plane. Dozens of times and just love it! Great for easy grating and its compact size means we can take it to picnics and grate fresh chilled cheese when needed. We keep ours on the counter for easy access. Small, compact, easy to use and clean - good packaging for easy home use.
