Review on πŸ”Œ Efficient Electric Can Opener with Auto Shutoff, Knife Sharpener, Cord Storage, & SureCut Technology - Hamilton Beach Extra Tall, Black by Julio Roberts

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Opening jars like a warm knife cuts butter.

This is the best can opener I have ever used. Serious. When I lived with my mom she had a nice automatic can opener on her kitchen cabinet that was pretty impressive for its time. She had it for many years and it worked great. After I moved out, she gave me an automatic can opener. Bless my mom, she tried to help but it hurt to use this thing. It wouldn't grab the glass if you weren't at the right angle. And when he finally took hold of it, he did not pierce the glass. You have to use enough force to pierce it and hope it will still hold afterward. It takes about 15 minutes to open small jars. After about a dozen uses we just bought cheap manual openers since we don't eat canned goods very often. After a year I was fed up with cheap can openers. One of them leaned forward before piercing the glass. So I checked out this Hamilton Beach. Almost everyone rated it highly and the price was right, so I made my choice. I just used it for the first time and now I just want to sit here and open jars. It was the most enjoyable can opening experience I've ever had. The thing is surprisingly quiet. All you hear is a low, pleasant hum. With a can opener, you can usually feel the puncture when you press the lever. When I pulled the lever in Hamilton Beach, it was almost like shifting a pillow. Without any help or grinding, the glass spun smoothly and stopped immediately when it reached the end of the cut. As an iPhone owner, I swear it could be an Apple product (until Steve Jobs died). It just looks like a polished quality product (BUT WITHOUT THE CRAZY GAIN). I never thought I would be so happy with a can opener. I think I'll be buying more canned food now that I know opening a can won't be a can opener fight.
