This was a find that made us both very happy! This OneTigris Mammoth backpack is exceptionally well made! Quality features and good workmanship. Not a flimsy fabric - strong and durable woven nylon with mesh lining. For this wonderful price! . . I sew! so I know quality when I see it. What sets this mammoth backpack apart from the competition is the comfortable wide straps in front and around the dog's chest, rather than the nylon webbing that cuts through the dog's skin on long hikes. The side pockets are the perfect size, complete with a grommet on the bottom of each for draining collected liquid in the rain or when wading rivers. The MOLLE tape next to the handle is great for securely attaching more gear, and the Velcro on the pocket is perfect for showcasing various patches. The elastic cords have been removed to serve a different purpose. Kupfer is a German Pinscher. Her neck is 15" and her bust is 24" (recommended minimum: neck -18"; chest - 25"), so I was a little hesitant because she's smaller than the minimum measurements for this backpack. When I ordered this, having sewed a lot over the years, I knew I could make this backpack a little smaller if needed. . . . . IT DOES NOT MATTER - it fits! Even before it arrived I was telling my dog about this mammoth backpack and how great the backpack is and how beautiful she looks in it. Fully tailored to the smallest size, when I tried it on her it fit really well - maybe a little big. Although designed for larger dogs, the pockets fit her fairly proportionately. She is so small but she loves to dance. Lambskin shoes with plastic soles and heels bought from West Germany in 1971 were assembled when the sole broke over time. The sheepskin coat was still in excellent condition and only part of the calf was hand stitched to the inside of the OneTigris Mammut backpack. Now the added shearling shearling gently hugs her lower bust and fits her snugly. With the backpack, she can still run at the speed of the wind and jump into the back of her car through the back door. And the coyote brown color matches her fur perfectly.
