I used it to monitor a pregnant horse from my bed. I had to smash the window with a pipe on the windowsill. I have a metal shed about 150 feet from my bedroom window. We had to install a camera on the edge of the doors and keep the window open 24 hours a day, 7 days a week for it to work. The sound on it was too quiet so I used my old baby monitor to record the sound and turned it off. I wish there was a zoom out feature as seeing the kids room would be a problem. We had to set it up high with a ladder to zoom out and only see about 2/3 of the kiosk. However, it worked! The infrared light worked better than night lights. I saw the mare giving birth and was able to get out quick enough to help her! Because she was a mare, she was incredibly unpredictable. But I didn't miss the birth of my foal and it was worth it. As for the distance, do they say it works? That's a lie. I don't know how it's going to work any further than what we had. They have to mean square feet because then the math works. However, it does not work at the specified distance!
