Review on Stant 10504Y Flex Fuel Locking by Robert Arneson

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Fits my 2013 GMC Terrain V6

As mentioned earlier this Stant #10504Y (Yellow) gas cap was not as compatible with my car but Stant #10504 (Black) The gas cap showed compatibility. I understand Stant used the same part number with (Y) to represent the yellow E-85 gas cap. So I ordered a yellow cap as my Terrain came with the original yellow throttle cap as it can use the E-85. I've never installed an E-85 in my car, but I wanted everything to be as true to the original as possible. I've had a gas cap for 5 days and NO check engine light has come on, that's how a car runs every day. I even filled the car up after putting the cap on. As mentioned, it would be nice to have some sort of cord on the locking cap like my original did, but each vehicle uses different methods of attacking the cord and it would be difficult for a manufacturer to come up with that. a universal way to attach a lanyard to a car's gas door. It would be nice if there was a kind of eyelet on the tank cap through which you could thread a lanyard. I have a great strap from one of my iPad styluses that I don't use that would be perfect for attacking the throttle and gas cap if there was a strap eyelet. I'm pretty sure I won't be drilling a hole in the gas cap to thread a cord through. It's not a doomsday issue for me, so I'm NOT voting because I'm missing a bit. If you look at all the locking gas caps here at Revain, you'll only find one or two that have a drawstring. Perhaps one day manufacturers will come up with a good universal way to attach a lanyard to a car's gas door. So for now I'm happy with my purchase.
