A friend gave us some cheaper versions. They are "good", but. The GRIPSTIC has a larger diameter so it can handle thicker bags (e.g. bags of frozen veggies), while the cheaper version struggles to handle veg bags, if at all. GRIPSTIC is made of more durable plastic. When used in the freezer, I worry about the cheaper and less durable version: the plastic becomes brittle and breaks easily. Both versions have "texture" (or knurling) along the entire length for easier grip while gliding. The GRIPSTIC ribbing is much more pronounced and therefore more functional. Yes, GRIPSTIC is more expensive, but the actual amount is more modest. I'm sure GRIPSTIC will last forever. (GRIPSTIC = orange on attached photos)
