We were too scared to buy an air bed for my very active toddler and we were very happy with this bed. The biggest problem is that it is very difficult to wash because you have to remove all the foam and if you don't put a waterproof mattress pad around the foam pad you will have problems with smelly foam. Essentially, it rolls into a large duffel bag. , so it may be difficult for traveling by plane, but good for traveling by car.
