works for me Read the pros and cons Review

I bought this for my 2008 Avalanche because I have large sunburn cracks on the dash. I wanted something that would prevent more cracks and make the dashboard more attractive. The cracks are very large and vibrate on bumpy roads. I really didn't want to invest in replacing the entire dashboard. PROS: The overall picture has improved. I love the feel of the material and it keeps things from sliding around on the dashboard. (I didn't even know I needed this option.) It's easy to clean with a vacuum or a slightly damp cloth. It doesn't seem to collect dust like dashboard carpets. It doesn't get any hotter inside than it used to be without a dash cover. It might actually be a little cooler. It has enough weight not to move at all and completely stops dash vibration on dirt roads. (Another unexpected bonus!) All in all, this is a cost-effective remedy for me. CONS: The packaging smelled awful. I let it air out outside for 2-3 days before installing it in my car. My car still smelled of vinegar 1-2 days after installation. Cutouts are made about 1/2 inch or so for each individual vent. I thought it would stretch after a while but so far in 3 weeks this hasn't happened. I've attached photos so you can see what I mean. At the main defrost vent, I point my fingers where the vent actually ends. This didn't change the use of defrost at all. It's just uncomfortable to watch.
