I bought this product for a number of reasons. 1. I needed stronger Wi-Fi than my ATT cable modem can provide; 2. I need a uPnP router; 3. I need parental controls. RT-ACRH17 has done everything but.a. Some of the reviews are correct; Even with the latest firmware, changing the most basic things will drop the internet connection and crash games, something 4 people in this house do all the time at the same time. For example, if you simply manually assign an IP address to one that is already assigned, the router will reboot. Why? Even my old ATT cable modem doesn't do that. b. It worked fine for a week and then suddenly the LAN connection sucked. Just disconnected, although the WiFi was still working. I don't know what happened but it was a bad night when it happened because it interrupted part of the game. Unacceptable. After a couple of hours trying to figure out what happened, I gave up and plugged and unplugged the device. That does not work. I actually had to factory reset and set up the router again before it was fixed. Why did the problem occur in the first place? Hell if I knew.c. After the incident described above, I have decided to keep the setting. Surprise surprise. The log file is written entirely in traditional Chinese characters. Is it important? Yes for me. I would like to be able to read the settings in ENGLISH, please. Because I can't read Chinese. I don't need a translator to use my utilities at home. Or wherever. Other things, but I think I've said enough.
