I've tried a few other spherical ice cube trays (from Bed Bath and Beyond, Sur La Table and Total Wine) and this is a LOT of a keeper! What makes this design the best is the combination of a rubberized silicone top and hard plastic base. When both pieces are soft, nothing will hold water in the indentations, making them almost impossible to fill, and when they freeze, there will be residual ice preventing them from being perfectly round. This design keeps the hard and soft parts closed, preventing water from flowing from one fountain to the other, creating perfect frozen balls! Finally, a built-in funnel lid makes registration much easier. No need to keep a separate funnel handy!
