The hooks were a bit big for my closet door but I just put some putty on underneath to keep them from wobbling (sticky putty like the ones you use for posters or crafts). My closet was full, and when I filled this holder, it kept tipping things in the closet, so I use it outside the door. Also, my closet doors are very small and after I put in the straightener and hair dryer holders, they weren't the right length for my closets because the hair dryer got tangled trying to close the closet, so I put it outside. Office worked fine.
