Update 4/25/2020: Comgrow did their best to account for and fix issues I had with the printer . I don't know of any other company that offers this service, so I've decided to upgrade my rating to 5 stars. They replaced every part of this printer that I was having trouble with. While my recommendation is still for beginners, if you are experienced and know what you are doing, you can buy this printer. Especially with Comgrow's support and services. I really hope my issues were one off and from the reviews so far it seems like my experience was not routine. I will definitely buy from Comgrow in the future. For the record, I am not a representative, brand ambassador or affiliated with Comgrow in any way, I just really appreciate how they got in touch with me to make sure all my issues were resolved. Update April 23, 2020: Please upgrade this printer again. The extruder on this thing just doesn't have what it takes. He started jumping and no matter what I do he keeps jumping. Comgrow is in constant contact trying to help but I'm afraid the extruder is just broken. So I rushed to Bondtech BMG. I also found the cause of the bent chipboard. Creality had the brilliant idea of putting a screw under where the plate's T-nut sits on the X-axis extrusion. So when you tighten the top bolt it will collide with the bottom bolt and prevent the t-nut from seating properly. This had to be captured in the design or at least in quality control. Looks like someone just loosened the screw and bent the plate. Save yourself the headache and grab another printer. I'm not suggesting you avoid any of their printers, my Ender 3 works perfectly. I will not buy another E5-Plus. I can't say enough good things about Comgrow. They were very attentive to my needs and quickly resolved my issue with the printer. Other than that, the printer was a headache. Leveling the bed is a lesson in frustration. From bugs to limited functionality on the factory board to buying a printer with a curved X-axis chuck (Comgrow sent me another one for free, great customer service). With that in mind, I've made improvements to the printer. I replaced the PSU with a mid-range SE-450, upgraded the MOSFET to a TH3D MOSFET rated at 30 amps, and added an SSR to turn the printer off after the hotend fan dropped below 45 degrees. Celsius. I've also added a Duet Maestro with a 7I panel upgraded to linear rails, added a Hero Me Gen 3 cooling system with an all-metal hot end and dual 5015 fans, but the only thing I still can't fix, is the bed . alignment. From time to time I have to tweak it with baby stepping, which is fine. I just wish I didn't have to do this so often. Otherwise the nozzle will scratch the frame when moving. Yes, this happened prior to one of those updates, and yes, I got my Z offset set correctly. Unfortunately I'm still using the stock extruder (missing a ton) which I'll be updating soon. In general I would not recommend this printer to a beginner, I would like to find out about some other printers (HevOrt, HEVO) beforehand. I'll keep this one for myself as I love tinkering, but be careful beginners, stick with a smaller printer. I would recommend the Ender-3, this thing has been printing great since I set it up. SKR mini E3, Bl-Touch, upgraded metal extruder, will soon receive linear guides (X,Y axes) and direct drive extruder upgrade.
