Review on DYMO Standard D1 45014 Labeling Tape (Blue Print On White Tape by Matthew Perez

Revainrating 3 out of 5

The protective tape is not easy to remove.

I have only worked with industrial tape prior to this purchase and the liner comes off easily with a light pressure on the tape. I needed white on transparency and this is the dymo tape that turned up when searching. It prints well, but the protective film doesn't peel off easily at all. I used the usual distraction I did and nothing happened. So I took out my razor blade to break the blade, which wasn't easy. So I tried to hollow out the backing and made a hole. When I cleaned it I was shocked to see it split in half. In doing so I took a piece and pressed the edges and when the halves separated I had the label folded over leaving a permanent line a few millimeters on the tape. For the rest of the labels, I chose to scrape and trim the edge to avoid creating a crease line that would be clearly visible on dark substrates. Definitely a "No Joy" experience, although the pre-made labels did their job well. Definitely room for improvement. Will only buy it again if needed.
