Before this toy, I had no idea Petey chews so much. I bought a few for our Amazonian friend with the orange wings and I suspect I'll be buying a few more. It takes him a few months to chew it to a pulp, but that definitely makes him a happy boy. The toy is quite large, 12 inches or so long and about (I would say) half that wide. It can bear the weight of my amazon parrot who easily holds on to it and rocks on it, and it doesn't go away in proportion to my parrot's size. However, note that you may need a fairly large cage to have this toy as it can overflow a smaller cage. But then again, I hope you don't have a bird that size in a small cage either. Petey loves that in addition to the flat and angled chews, there are lots and lots and lots of knots to work with. It goes into town on knots and works with its beak quite a bit, chewing (read: breaking) blocks. The rope is soft cotton with no parts to catch or tangle on the leg or wing, and the wood is soft enough not to split or crumble under our parrots' chews.
