We purchased this solely as a transition cage for a baby deer mouse we are raising. We put him in a small box until his eyes opened at two weeks and then into this travel cage. It's perfect for him now but we will be putting him in a much larger cage in another 2-3 weeks. This cage should be for travel or temporary only. It is not big enough to keep an animal in permanently.Now for the quality.it feels cheap and was difficult to put together. The pieces just didn't seem to line up. One of the plastic pieces was also cracked. There are no instructions so please watch the video posted on Best Buy if you have issues putting it together. If this wasn't a temporary solution for our mouse I would be returning it. It is a very cute cage so I was extremely disappointed in the quality.
