Good thermometer - could have been better packaged

It is accurate and works perfectly. I've been using it for about 4 months and I'm happy with the purchase. I wish it had a separate on/off switch so I can keep the probe popping out all the time while cooking. I find myself opening and closing the probe constantly, which can be a little messy. Another nice design improvement would be to flatten the side opposite the probe so I can put it on that side. Just a few suggestions for an otherwise good product.
