On the good side: the sound is decent, you just have to set it up and gain some distance. It has some good connectivity options. The speakers look good and are well made. The cables are also of good quality (I have rarely seen such good Ethernet cables!). Not so good: At idle, the speakers hum noticeably high (probably the power supply) and I think I'm young enough to hear that. Maybe it's just my device, I didn't listen to others. The AirPlay connection is very unreliable, but mostly Apple's fault (my 10 year old Squeezebox works better and is more reliable!). I also ended up using a cable to connect two speakers because I experienced some connection loss when using wireless. Out of the box they sound very boomy, loud and dirty: make sure you use the remote control app to change the settings or you'll be disappointed with the sound. The Bad: I dropped the remote on the floor and now it doesn't work so I have to use the app to turn it on and off. A physical power switch (and input selector) would be nice! I have KEF Q series speakers and am very happy with them. So I was disappointed with these. I also have a couple of Audioengine A5 monitors from a few years ago which cost me half the price but sound better than these (less colouration, more transparent and better picture). And for that price I'd buy a pair of good bookshelf speakers and a NAD D3020 to power them instead: it sounds better and you can always upgrade components.
