Not sure if this is for the hepa rating or for washability, but the membrane significantly reduces the amount of air going through this filter. So ask yourself whether you really need a HEPA filter or a washable filter that requires gentle cleaning and doesn't last long. This little vacuum has a pretty limited gripping power, and this filter reduces it even more. After the membrane was deflated with a high pressure air gun, the filter and vacuum worked much better.
