Joints need to be glued

It takes a while to assemble, but not outrageous. The most important thing to do is use carpenter's glue on all mating surfaces below the top. Otherwise, it's a little shaky and some joints may break. It's not difficult to use the glue. Once glued, this little table is sturdy & tough. I really like it.
