Haven't used them in the rain but have tried them on over motorcycle boots. I wear size 12 boots and had trouble putting them on. The construction and material used will likely keep your feet dry if you wear waterproof pants over them to prevent water from coming in from above and getting into puddles. I mentioned puddles because I was very disappointed they didn't have soles on the bottom. The floor is completely open. These covers enclose the sole of the foot with elastic straps at the bottom. If you run at all I expect the strap and elastic hem will wear out quickly and certainly won't hold water if you stand an inch or more away from it.
