Love the ease of use of the reusable food strainer. The screen is fine enough to separate solids from liquids. The way the mesh attaches to the plastic container feels a little flimsy. I didn't put any pressure on the sieve while preparing the oatmeal. I used a round plunger to stir the oats until most of the liquid came out. This screen allowed the secondary solids to flow into the liquid container. Secondary solids in the form of chalk and sand, which come loose from the grains when soaked in a liquid. A food strainer doesn't strain as well as a nut milk bag. It's not an electrical device, so there's no "mixing power" unless it's done by hand. Good size container. It is not very stable when two parts are connected. The top separates easily from the bottom, and the solids on top can easily tip over when squeezed or stirred. I make three servings of oatmeal a week. You can try nuts instead to see how it holds up.
