Size wise this is a pretty decent portable SSD. I'm not sure what drive is inside, but I'm assuming it's an M2 drive. If you plan on taking photos and videos on the go then this works great as you have plenty of space and you can plug it into your phone (if you have Type-C). I'd say it can store a relatively good amount of data, but 500GB is actually pretty small these days, especially with the number of high-resolution cameras and videos. I think the trade-off here is that you get a small form factor and decent transfer speeds. I checked the storage and it's 500GB. The check didn't take long. It took less than an hour and thirty minutes to fill the device. The average speed was a bit lower than stated in the post. Although it says up to 900MB. I would estimate it will be somewhere in the middle (about 400MB/s). I tried Thunderbolt and Type-C ports and the average result was the same. It was about 125 MB/s between it and the other portable drive. It only comes with a short Type-C cable. There's no adapter or anything like that for the USB-A ports. If you have a Type-C to USB-A cable, it actually works. If you plan to use this on a Mac, please note that you must actually format the drive in order for it to work properly (i.e. transfer to and from the device, as it will definitely be read). The body is small and light. This is a durable aluminum metal, so you get good passive cooling without fear of a hard drive failure. The metal is a little easy to scratch and there is no case to paste it. It has a fairly short cable, which was a bit disappointing for me, and it's very difficult to connect to desktop computers as the drive will most likely just hang up. The cable itself is quite strong and durable, but I'm afraid that over time it will become twisted and tangled, which can lead to breakage. I also tried a Type C to USB A adapter and it actually worked with this cable. Compared to many other m2 external drives, this drive is slightly narrower but just as thick. The device feels heavy so I hope there is more metal inside to prevent it from being damaged if dropped. It's not entirely prone to dings and dents if you drop it. It will be scratched or dented if you drop it. Judging by the looks of the drive, I can't tell if it's waterproof, so I try to avoid getting water on this unit as much as possible. It can stay connected to the network for a long period of time without heating or connection problems. Overall I think it's a good drive, but the transfer speed seems a little low for what it's advertised. I also wish the cable was a bit longer so my hard drive doesn't hang down the side or whatever when connected to a desktop.
