Review on ๐Ÿ“บ Streamline Your Entertainment Experience with Logitech Harmony Elite Remote Control, Hub and App by Jose Haskin

Poor software and programming

I've had many Harmony remotes and while they're always a bit of a hassle to set up, this one sucks. You should be able to access all the features with your mobile device to set up where before you could use a computer for everything. It's much faster and easier to use a full-sized computer, and it seems to me that this decision was made purely to get their app installed on your mobile device. Okay, okay, we'll try. nope I can't find the hub when it's connected to my WiFi network. Drop the hub. Reboot your phone. Deleted app data on phone. Tried it with a tablet. Tried another phone (and I'm using Android and iOS devices at the moment so it's platform independent). Nothing, I can't find the hub. I checked my router, sees the hub, IP address and that's it. Finally, the application has a way to manually specify the IP address of the hub. I can not reach him. Reset my router. Drop AP. Nothing yet. Connected to a computer, sees everything, updates the software on the hub and remote control. Tried 3 more times and finally connected. Except it couldn't find my TV on the network or my Hue hub. I ended up just adding what I could as an IR, done and click. can't find the hub. I went in, assigned the hub a static IP address as a last resort, and after trying to connect for another 20 minutes I gave up. Setting it up on my computer would allow the basic functions to work, but I didn't spend all that money on the basic functions. It's worth noting that the Harmony app has pretty bad reviews on both app stores. The Revain review isn't impressive either, but I took a chance based on previous Harmonies I've had. My mistake. It goes back and forth to 4 different remote controls. I don't know if I can blame Logitech for being sloppy as they don't have much competition to speak of without going to a professional installer. Why do they care? You do not need.
