Review on Fiskars 6 Inch Orange Travel πŸ”ͺ Folding Scissors: Compact & Portable Cutting Tool by Doris Tran

Revainrating 4 out of 5

Two models: Finland versus China.

I ordered these scissors twice and received different "generations" of these scissors, Finland and China models. The Finlandia model I received circa 2012 had stronger plastic handles with larger loops. It had a blade thickness of 1.2 mm with only a primary grind. The lettering Fiskars Finland was cast on the handle. The newer 2016 Chinese model has thinner, almost flimsy plastic grips. The finger holes have become significantly smaller and are now painfully tight on my thumb when in use. The Chinese model has a blade thickness of 1.8 mm with a primary and secondary grind up to the cutting edge. The new model has no markings on the scissors or even a trademark, giving it a generic look; but the Fiskars branded bubble wrap says "Made in China". The Finlandia scissors were handy and comfortable, slightly larger than your normal packable scissors which was nice. However, they have always been difficult to open. No big deal, at least he kept them folded. But not ideal if you have arthritis. New Chinese model? Well, be vigilant in everything. My first review and rating was for the original Finnish model. Because of the finger holes I would give the Chinese model 2 stars.

Pros
  • Double handle strap suitable for right and left handed people
Cons
  • Some little things
