Review on Karter Scientific 213A2 Borosilicate Beaker by Rick Ross

Revainrating 3 out of 5

Mediocre quality - mug

Suitable for light duty applications. I have doubts about the heat tolerance. Didn't want to expose them to excessive heat. Glass tends to be flimsy, with the exception of the 100ml jar which seems a little more durable. Terribly packaged, each jar naked in its own box and those placed in a different box; No paper, no styrofoam, nothing. I consider myself very fortunate that none of them broke along the way. All markings are screen printed, not etched. At first glance they look good. They won't last long. The bottom of a 1000ml glass is not completely flat. It wobbles a little. This is a more serious problem than it may seem at first glance, since the heat transfer from the heater plate is concentrated and unevenly distributed in the contact area. More local stresses, higher risk of breakage. Others are pretty flat. FOR THE PRICE, they're a good buy if they come intact, if your needs are modest, and if you don't trust these glasses to withstand thermal or mechanical stress in critical or potentially dangerous conditions. usually best spent on superior glassware, even at a higher price.

Pros
  • Slim design
Cons
  • Long delivery time
