They work as described. Very very powerful! It is a two (2) pack meaning there are four (4) hooks.which I didn't expect but I happy that I got so many for under $14. Simply open the packaging, remove the taped-sponge backing from each magnet (((one magnet at a time)))) then slap them to the metal surface where your items will be hanging out. Easy breezy. To remove from the metal surface you will have to slide/push the magnet hook off, not pull, slide. They are currently holding up my winter wool coat and my very heavy pocketbook on the side of my metal file cabinet without issue. I highly recommend this magnetic coat hook. 😍
