I bought a refurbished model for about [$$$] and everything was perfect. The old administrator password has already been removed, so there were no problems accessing the configuration. D-Link DI-704P is very easy to connect. I particularly like the idea of moving all the wiring to the back and the LEDs to the front. As for the documentation; All this is on a CD in pdf format. I think that reduces costs. It took about half an hour to install and launch, mostly due to a small, undocumented bug. It just wouldn't connect. The problem was easily solved after looking at the FAQs on the D-Link website. I just had to run winipcfg and reset the current settings and then update. Then just turn off everything (computer, router, cable modem). Then turn on the cable modem's backup power and let it go through its procedures; turn on the router; then a computer. Everything works perfectly. One of the main reasons for choosing this device was the print server function. The software installed without errors and it was easy to reconfigure my printer to point to the D-Link print server (HP DeskJet 420). Printing works fine, so now my computer doesn't have to be on 24/7 to act as a print server. I am rating this product 5 stars for value and performance but minus one star because the answer to the FAQ should be in the original documentation. So maybe 4 1/2 stars would be more appropriate.
