I'm a big fan of storing knives in a drawer because I hate counter clutter. We have no children to worry about safety issues. I bought this block of wood to replace our old one which was the same size but had 1/2 knife placement. This new one has been great so far! I like the look and had no problem placing the knives. Good price! This was part of my overall efforts to organize the house. My husband and I both cook a lot (all from scratch) and when we update our knife set I will buy another block to match the first one because I really liked it.
