This was a Christmas gift for my dad – who had recently discovered new mysteries to his family history. This was to serve as a "family tree” journal. I like the rustic look of the product; the outside had a nice texture and the detail on the side was my favorite! I did not care too much for the inside of the journal – the "paper” feels rough and the binding does not allow for the best ease with writing and reading, I imagine. I feel like the book opens up into certain "chunks” of rough paper. Notice how there is a chunk of paper raised – where underneath you can see that there is more paper to the journal.Do not think I would enjoy using this product. However, it went with the theme of my gift and I did not feel like returning it. Some specs/flaws on paper as well (not significantly, but still). Generally pictured as advertised and a crafty journal.
