Review on InsightOut by Jack Harrell
A good user interface is important.
Overall the product looks great. The idea behind it seems solid, but I'm having trouble getting it to function. I am able to get it to start up, but I'm not sure if it's actually working or not. It's slow and clunky. When I try to import data into the tool, it never seems to finish, and I'm not sure why. It also doesn't seem to give me any indication of progress. I'd love to see some screenshots of what it looks like inside, but I couldn't find anything that showed me that either. I was hoping it would be easier to use, but it seems to take forever. I'll admit that it looks pretty nice though, and I'm impressed with the amount of stuff that they've included. I wish I could see what it looks like on a Mac, but I can't figure out how to find the download link.
- User Interface/Design- Easy to use
- Functionality - I can actually do something useful from this application (create tables, edit tables)
- Data Import /Export- This is a good example of how you can make it easy to upload large amounts of data.
- I don't know how much I'd want documentation, but it should at least point out where to look.
- If the user experience is bad, then everything else isn't going to matter
