The Ender 3 was my second attempt at 3D printing. My first was an early, mostly wood kit that really didn't work. It required WAY too much tinkering and fiddling to get anything out of it. Granted, it was a early model. The Ender 3 worked perfectly right out of the box (after assembly, of course). Sure, the instructions are poor but there are plenty of videos and websites to help with that. Plus, if you TAKE YOUR TIME, you can follow them. My time to build was under 2 hours and would have been faster had I unwound the wire bundle prior to assembly. Bonus points for ALL of the tools and extra parts that came with it.I was nervous about all of the steps required to get my first print, especially since all of the hassle I had with my old printer. I watched a video on leveling the bed and it ended with "OK you're ready for your first test print." Wait! What?! No setting a bunch of temperatures, X and Y and Z axis, etc? Nope.I set the extruder to home, preheated the filament and loaded the sample dog file.It printed! Not only printed, but it is a very fine and clean print! I was blown away by the quality of the print for this or any price range.I really don't mind a little bit of tinkering but I am not one of these people who find the joy in the tool. The joy is in what the tool can do. The Ender 3 eliminated most of the hassle and I ended up printing all weekend.
