Review on πŸ’» Enhance Ethernet Connectivity with BENFEI USB 3.0 to Gigabit Ethernet Adapter for MacBook, Surface Pro & More by Brian Olson

Not suitable for Nintendo Switch multiplayer

This USB ethernet allows my switch to work on a wired ethernet network. However, the download speed was less than 1/3 compared to connecting the Ethernet cable directly to the PC. Also, he had a terrible problem where the connection lagged from half a second to a full second. If I increased the information packet size (MTU) in the switch settings, I would go from a full second to a second and a half before the delay started. But that was the maximum value, which is only 100 MTU higher than usual, so unfortunately increasing it could not make the connection more stable. It was very difficult to compensate for these regular disturbances and in terms of suitability for tournaments it was not even better than WLAN. The worst thing that can happen in a player-to-player connection is bursts of lag, and there were more of those than WiFi. So the connection is pretty bad, but the connection in my room is almost 0. Also, the data transfer was still much higher than WiFi. If you just want to download something or use a game that connects to the network but doesn't require a hard reaction, you can handle this product. But there's really no reason the best adapter shouldn't cost a lot more.

Pros
  • Good product for the price
Cons
  • weak
