When I opened the packaging, it smelled strongly of chemicals at first. So they went to the laundry room. The instructions say to wash separately only in the genital cycle. Tumble dry on low heat only. Lots of extra care for a few pillowcases. I'm surprised they didn't say to dry clean them. The covers were too small for standard pillows. I would say they were about 1 1/2 - 2 inches too narrow. I had to struggle to slide the pillows in. If you don't want to waste water, electricity, hassle and time, I wouldn't recommend buying it. On the plus side, they're soft and don't wrinkle.
